Endorsed Republican Marty Young Unveils Bipartisan Universal Healthcare Plan as Families Face Skyrocketing Premiums After Years of Washington Failure

West Chester, PA — January 6, 2026 — Today, Marty Young, the endorsed Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District, unveiled the Young Americans Plan (YAP)—a bold, targeted universal healthcare proposal that guarantees full coverage for every child, young adult under age 23, and every expectant mother, while lowering costs, restoring accountability, and delivering immediate economic relief to families and businesses across Chester and Berks Counties.

At a time when healthcare premiums routinely exceed mortgage or rent payments, and families are one medical emergency away from financial collapse or a GoFundMe, Young is putting forward what Washington has failed to deliver for decades: a serious, workable solution that addresses the real drivers of cost, complexity, and instability in the healthcare system.

“This is not a theoretical problem,” said Young. “It’s payroll. It’s jobs. It’s families trying to do everything right and still falling behind. Our system keeps rewarding professional fraudsters, corrupt politicians, government bureaucrats, and insurance middlemen while patients and doctors lose control—and families pay the price.”

“Families in PA-06 are being crushed by skyrocketing healthcare costs alongside unaffordable housing, childcare, utilities, and groceries,” Young added. “The Young Americans Plan attacks this crisis at its core—guaranteeing that no child, young adult, or expectant mother goes without the care they need, while removing these costs from family and employer budgets. Just as America guarantees public education for every child, we can and must guarantee their health. Washington’s failed approach has made life harder for the next generation. It’s time for leadership that delivers results and restores opportunity here at home.”

A Plan Shaped by Proven Experience, Not Ideology

The Young Americans Plan is the product of Young’s lived experience—as a father of four raising a family in West Chester, as an Army Chaplain who has walked alongside families through medical crises and uncertainty, and as a nationally recognized turnaround executive who has spent his career fixing some of the largest broken systems where failure meant thousands of layoffs, lost paychecks, and shuttered businesses.

In 2023, Young lived the consequences of large-scale insurance fraud firsthand when his company, Buckle, lost more than $15 million to the multi-billion dollar Vesttoo scandal. Marty and his team fought back, protected his people, and survived. Many others weren’t able to survive, resulting in state insurance guarantee funds footing the fraud bill and increasing everyone’s insurance premiums.

“That experience reinforced what I’ve seen over and over again,” Young said. “When highly regulated, government-backed systems are bloated, confusing, and unaccountable, families always pay the price. Healthcare is where this failure hits hardest.”

Young points to examples across the country—from massive insurance fraud scandals to the ongoing Feeding Our Future case in Minnesota, where hundreds of millions of dollars meant to feed children were stolen—as evidence of a system that moves too much money through too many hands with too little accountability. Whether it’s public programs or private insurance markets, the pattern is the same: fraud is rampant, costs rise, and families are left paying more for less.

Different stories. Same conclusion.

A Different Kind of Republican—and a Serious Reform

Young’s proposal will surprise many: as a Republican, he is proposing guaranteed healthcare coverage for children, young adults, and expectant mothers, because it is the most responsible, cost-effective way to protect families, strengthen the workforce, and lower long-term healthcare costs for everyone.

“At some point, we have to stop confusing inaction with responsibility,” Young said. “Just as America guarantees public education for every child, we can and must guarantee their health. That isn’t just common sense—it’s the right thing to do."

Unlike Washington’s endless temporary fixes, the Young Americans Plan delivers durable reform that protects the most vulnerable, preserves private insurance options for adults, and reduces pressure on employers—without creating new bureaucracy. The proven solution is already in place.

The Young Americans Plan: Two Clear Commitments

First Commitment

Universal healthcare coverage for every child and young adult in America from birth up to age 23.

  • No premiums, no deductibles, and no or low copays.
  • Full coverage for preventive care, vaccines, asthma inhalers, broken bones, mental health services, and all essential care.
  • By removing children from unstable insurance markets, the plan lowers overall premiums and simplifies coverage for working families.

Second Commitment

Universal healthcare coverage for every expectant mother and her unborn child, from a positive pregnancy test through the baby’s first birthday.

  • Full coverage for prenatal care, delivery, NICU care if needed, newborn pediatric visits, and a full year of postpartum care for mothers.
  • Ensures healthier births, stronger families, and better long-term outcomes for children.

By fulfilling these commitments, the Young Americans Plan removes child and maternal healthcare costs from broken public programs and inefficient insurance markets—lowering premiums for adults, easing pressure on employers of every size, and delivering immediate affordability relief to working families, while preserving private coverage for adults.

“The Young Americans Plan gives families real protection and real breathing room,” said Young. “As a father raising four children in West Chester, I know these worries firsthand. In Congress, I will fight for solutions that put people first—securing the health of our kids and moms, cutting costs for everyone else, and making the American Dream of having a family achievable for the next generation.”

A Clear Contrast in PA-06

After nearly eight years in Congress, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan has offered no meaningful healthcare reform for families in PA-06. Costs have risen, access has narrowed, and Washington continues to rely on short-term patches that mask the problem while families fall further behind.

“Talking about healthcare isn’t the same as fixing it,” Young said. “Families in this district deserve more than self-serving political theatrics and temporary subsidies. They deserve solutions that actually work, and to be a part of the conversation.”

Taking the Conversation Directly to Voters

Young will begin a series of open town halls across the district to ensure voters are fully included in the conversation. The first, Fixing Healthcare Town Hall, will take place on January 25, where Young will present the Young Americans Plan in detail and take questions directly from residents.

“This campaign is about seriousness, transparency, and results,” Young said. “Washington has had years to fix this system and hasn’t. I’m running because we can do better—and because I know how to get it done.”
