FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
"The Marty Young for Congress Campaign Fellowship Program is an opportunity for students located in PA-06 to gain hands-on experience in political campaigns, communication, community outreach, and civic engagement while working alongside the campaign team and other students." - Marty Young
Who can apply?
This fellowship is open to high school and college students who are interested in politics, government, communications, journalism, community organizing, or civic engagement. No previous campaign experience is required.
What opportunities are available?
Each student will have the opportunity during the fellowship to complete an individual or group project based on their interests, such as conducting research on a local issue, establishing a student-led chapter within their school (subject to school policies and approvals), creating a youth engagement initiative, or developing a community outreach project.
What will you gain?
Fellows get hands-on political campaign experience: they learn how campaigns communicate with voters, organize communities, develop and promote digital content, and respond to current issues. They contribute to real campaign projects, take part in outreach and volunteer events, attend meetings with campaign staff, and have a chance to share their thoughts about their community while working with others to create lasting change.
Along the way they build writing, communications, research, organizing, and social media skills. Successful completion also provides a professional reference, experience that belongs on college applications and resumes, networking opportunities, and mentorship from campaign staff.
